Doctrine and Covenants 4:2-3

"Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.

Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;" (Doctrine and Covenants 4:2-3)

Hola!

This week has been crazy and fun. We have had some really good lessons and contacts with personas.  We were able to have members present.  Then on Sunday we had some members in the ward pass by for a guy we have been teaching for about a month and he loved the church.  He has friends in the church and he wanted to read the scriptures it was so good.  The problem a lot of the time is they don’t want to go to church but when the have friends of members that will go with them it makes it so much easier for them to feel involved.  I’m so thankful for a loving ward.  We also ran literally by some house in the morning before church and picked up DIANA who also has a date for baptism and she enjoyed it as well!

Today I cooked for my district a Thanksgiving meal Argentinean style!  I made steak homemade mash potatoes and avocado dip.  Then some homemade cinnamon rolls to top it off. Haahaa!  It was good! We also had conference this week one of the Elders greeted me and said that I was the best cook in the whole mission!  I guess it has gotten around I like to cook. Haha!

I was also crazy sick during conference I had a fever of 102 and after conference President sent me to the doctor.  There I was with my companion and the doctor said I had two options a pill or an injection and an injection was easier, so I looked at my companion and asked where is the injection. I’m sure glad I asked because she said “In my bum” in Spanish. Then I replied in very loud English kind of in shock “In my BUM! Oh, heck no!!! Pills.”  It was really funny for my companion and I left the hospital with a prescription for pills then when I got to the pharmacy I bought the pills then they didn’t have change so they gave me an extra pill. I’ve taken them all haha and I feel much better!

Oh, I also was walking and was thinking wow these rocks here in Argentina are really pointy because I can feel it through my shoes.  It turns out I have a hole in one of my shoes. Haha! It’s always been on my bucket list to get a whole in a pair of shoes like this! But I need these babies to last me 4 more months.  Haha goals!

I love you all I hope you all had a great week!!

Hola!

I had my very first baptism in the mission this week!! Her name is Abril and I have been teaching her for about a month!  Her family is all members but where inactive and it’s so exciting to have her whole family at church. We also have some really good family’s we are teaching! We had a contact one day and this mom and her two sons welcomed us into her house we talked about the Book of Mormon and how it is a another testament of Jesus Christ. We also set a fecha for baptismo and gave them all a pamphlet on the Restoration. Then we went back later in the week and they had the Book of Mormons laying out on the table with the pamphlets it was really good.

This PDay we want to a lake then we went to the mall where there was Christmas decorations it’s the only Christmas decorations I have ever seen in Argentina! It’s crazy here its so hot like oh my heavens! I have also been running with my companion every morning and I bought a Volleyball at Walmart! I guess this is the only Walmart in the Mission, so I stocked up on peanut butter as well! Haha okay well I hope everyone is having a great week!!

I love you all,
Hermana Dunn

HOLA!!

This week I got a new companion Hermana Zuniga she is from Honduras its the country under Guatemala! Haha. She doesn’t speak any English so it’s been fun to speak only Spanish! Haha.  She really is great she works hard!

This week have obtained 4 dates for baptism and we have a baptism the Sunday before church! And the family last week I wrote said they were not interested is one of the first house we went to this transfer because I cannot give up on them, they are a good family! I lot has happened this week we found 14 new people to teach and one of them I’m going to help with English. Haha. I think it’s funny because English was never the best subject.

Any way I’m not sure what else to write so I’ll just end a bunch of photos! love you all!

Have a great WEEK!

Hola!

This week is transfers!!! I have a new companion I have only known her for a couple minutes so more later, but she only speaks Spanish!! Haha!  Here we go… I will no longer be a gringo!

This week with my companion has been hard.  The family that has been going to the church the husband decided he is not sure, but he never put in any action like actually reading the scriptures and praying to find out if it is true or not. My job as a missionary is to give the people all the tools and help answer question but it is up to the people to take action and find out for themselves! That’s what I love about this gospel.  You can know for yourself if what we teach is true. It’s promised in the Book of Mormon! All you have to do is read and ask through prayer.

Despite these challenges we have had a couple of really good lessons.  We have one person Diago where the members opened up there house so we could teach him and he is reading the Book of Mormon and he has a friend in the ward.  It is all really good. He has a bunch of questions and wants to know more! We also have a girl, Dayanna and she has been reading and had questions for us as well.

This email is a little short. Haha!  Oh, also we encountered a man who is from Italy and he wanted a photo with us and he gave us his address in Italy.  Haha! It was way cool!

I hope everyone has a great week!! I love you all!!!!
